Introducing the portrait documentary series by Jitske Nap, that celebrates powerful women of the Amsterdam party scene.

The Artist
Jitske was always fascinated by fashion, visual design, and storytelling, which naturally led her to study Fashion & Design at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. After her studies, Jitske travelled to New York to complete an internship at the renowned fashion publication V Magazine. While working on a studio set, Jitske discovered her passion for photography, which she continued with in Amsterdam. Jitkse’s passion has led her to capture people from all types of backgrounds, and in all types of situations. From the buzzing night-life of Bangkok, to the disciplined kick-boxers in the ring, and to many artists in their element. Jitske’s philosophy is ‘to capture chaos in one impression, then let her audience analyse it’.

Women of the Amsterdam Party Scene
The images featured in this series combine portrait and documentary style photography. They are sequel to Jitske’s exhibition that was for International Women’s Day in Havana, Cuba. The women featured were portrayed as protagonists in mainly male-dominated industries. The theme continues in her new exhibition, as the Amsterdam party-scene is still a heavily saturated male-dominated industry. Jitske’s exhibition shows the essence of this theme.
